Saying cheers with India’s premier fizzy drinks and a little outing courtesy of mummy’s top friends in the business. I was in touch with Shamil, the owner of Dishoom, and we had an invite to visit the latest outpost of dishoom at batterseapwrstn. No teen complained. Although they still looked a bit mortified when I asked a rando to take a family photo. This branch isn’t far from us and we ordered our favourites, including the crispy okra fries, crunchy karwari prawns and paneer tikkas that are always meltingly soft. Butter chicken was present on the table in the name of research, obviously. Scored a few brownie points as we sailed past the long queue and got five star service and a comp meal. The kids absolutely love Dishoom. There’s something very special about seeing my two tuck into Thums Up and Limca in London. My gin cocktail with a lassi reduction was incredible and just the ticket for frayed mum nerves. A strong start to half term holidays as they kick off here.
