The Supersonic Pepsi Ad Thought Super Bowl ads were expensive? With Pepsi shares eroding in the soft drinks market in the 90's, Pepsi Cola needed a major rebrand in its products, therefore it spent $500 million on this project. In an attempt to advertise its new brand in spectacular manner, it was eventually decided to have an advertisement operation involving the Concorde. Pepsi ended up awarding the contract to Air France for 2 weeks. Temperature was a main concern on the Concorde due to the dark blue color. The wings were not painted blue and Air France was advised to keep the high speed jet at Mach 2.02 for no more than 20 minutes.
